English exam

Post by Worldtravel18 » Fri May 16, 2025 9:05 am

Hi all,

Applying for british citizenship. Got a quick question. I passed my B1 cert in 2021 and used it to apply for settled status which I have. I just want to confirm I can use that certificate. It does say certificate are only valid for 2 years but on the gov website it says if used in pervious application it's acceptable...double checking I can use? Any had this issue before?

Thank you so much in advance

Did you apply for Settled Status under Appendix EU (which does not have a language requirement)? Or did you apply for ILR under another provision of the Immigration Rules?

I applied for ILR under a 5 year Spouse Route...and used my B1 cert in that application

In that case, the B1 certificate should be acceptable. But wait for others to advise further on this point.

You can rely on the B1 certificate used for ILR. This is standard process.
