Naturalization on TEU 50

Post by CatBrom » Mon Sep 08, 2025 1:51 pm

Hi there,

I have permission to stay based on Article 50 TEU. My spouse is British, and we married in 2022. I was previously on Stamp 1G for just under two years based on my graduate status.

Will I be eligible for naturalisation on this permission? I am struggling to find out anywhere.

Both 1G and Art. 50 TEU are eligible for reckonable residency for naturalisation.

Spousal TEU 50 is issued to people who would have previously been (before Brexit) given Stamp 4 EUFam. The post Brexit equivalent is Stamp 4D. So the TEU 50 card is regarded as a Stamp 4, in general terms. All 3 of the Brexit-related statuses are reckonable residency and many people have already received citizenship via this route.
