English language requirement

Post by krishnaa1978 » Tue Feb 24, 2009 11:53 am

Hi

I have submitted my tier 1 general visa forms last week. However, I still have bit of confusion around what the english language requirement is.

Basically, I have used degree taught in english as the option to get 10 points for english requirement. I did my Bachelors degree (BTech) from University of Kerala, Trivandrum which shows in points calculator.

However, I met few colleagues who mentioned you still need to produce some letter from university to say the degree was in english and others in this forum who says the degree certificate would be enough.

Can someone pls advise what will work. I hope my degree certificate would be enough otherwise my app may be rejected !

If you educational qualification is recognized by the PBS calculator, than while mentioning abt ur english requirement it shows up ur degree and you can choose it and be assured that it is enough.. till applications reaching UK BA before 31st Mar..

if PBS is allowing you to select your degree for english language requirement then there is no need to worry.

It is good practice to submit a letter from your university stating that your degree was taught in english if you can aqquire one. This way it is easir for the case worker to check off for you and will probably speed up your application time.

Just a thought
