HAVE ILR , DO I HAVE RECOURSE TO PUBLIC FUNDS?

Post by netrader » Wed Mar 11, 2009 5:33 pm

Hello there,
I hold a residence permit which states indefinite leave to remain.
When would i qualify for public funds , as a man at the job centre said the permit needs to come with a letter from the home office saying i am entitled to public funds. The home office did not give me any such letter.
I would like some clarity on the subject or where would i apply for such a letter.
warm regards netrader

Unless you (or your sponsor) signed a undertaking on maintenance and accommodation, then as an ILR holder, you are allowed to claim public funds. Normally, public funds restrictions would be endorsed on your residence permit.

Hi Netrader,
Did you get the public fund sorted out, did you had to get a letter from HO or passport was ok for getting funds?
