how can this be possible, my bro paid £400 to appeal, his lawyer said the just wrote him to say appeal not allowed but the money not refunded.

i think the lawyer just took the money and never applied becos i dont believe theuk is that unfair to take your money and refuse you a day in court i have never hear anything like it before.

Then ask the lawyer for the documents he filed

well i wont be had in such a way but my brother seem to be intimidated by his lawyer he believes everything the guy says he has taken over 3000 from my bro pursuing a case that he knows can no t be won.

but this time i am going to get heavilly involved becos i dont believe they can take a fee and refuse to hear the case.

the £5oo that ur brother paid was probably the fee the sollicitor charge to prepare the grounds of appeal to be send to the court.
My sollicitor is charging me this way:
-£500 to prepare the grounds of appeal as I did not have right to appeal(refundable if a hearing is refused we agreed)
- £500 for the day of hearing for the barrister.
Once I paid the £500 he filed the petition and sent me a copy by post(he always send me any letter related to my case).
2/3 weeks later I received letter from the AIT informing me of date of hearing. My sollicitor sent me the same copy.
Is ur brother's lawyer registred?Did he get a proper invoice?
He may be a crook
I think for those cases you need honest and capable lawyers.

personally i think he is a crook, he is leading my bro nowhere.
my bro has already had an appeal and he lost. this is the second one to a higher court apparently, my bro never got any paperb concerning this one the first appeal he did he got all the paper sent to him from court.

i dont believe any country wud take 400 from a person and not give them a day in court.

we have asked him to send us the letter and we can then use the ref to see wat actually happened.
