Visiting Visa Query

Post by Passionate_UK » Tue Mar 31, 2009 10:49 pm

Hi Friends - I'm staying in UK with my family under HSMP visa.
My baby who was born last year was diagnosed with a life-limiting disease. My wife's parents got visiting visa for 2yrs in Sep '08 and
they're completing 6mnths stay in UK in April.

The hospital team has given us a letter stating the details of the
special care required as the baby needs full-time care.

When I asked Indian Embassy if they can stay for more than 6mnths in UK, they said my in-laws just need to go out of the country
and come back - just that they can't stay here continuously.
But I rang Home office and they said visitors can stay only for 180 days in a year ?.

But I can't see this as a rule anywhere on UKBA website. So totally confused.

Please can you advise ?.

Appreciate your help in this matter.

However, holders of visit visas may only remain in the UK for a maximum of six months on any one visit, or until the visa expires if less than six months. This restriction is indicated on the visa by the entry “180â€
