What to do after getting Tier 1 visa

Can anyone explain what are steps you need take after you get your Tier 1 visa?
E.g. registering at the police department after arrival to UK, applying for any social secutiry number or any other documents that allow you to get employed. I just got Tier 1 visa and I want to travel there. However, I am not planning to settle there right now. So, I am trying to estimate how much time I will need there on my first visit and what I need to do.
