Right to work

Hi there,

I am asylum seeker waiting for initial decision 10 months now.
I am reporting regularly to the home office, And I am on nass support.
We are family of four, husband wife and two kids.

my question is can I request for work. If yes, when? where? and how?
I highly appreciated, if someone give suggestion in this matter.
