Tuition Fees & the 28 days requiremnts

Post by Jack_Hammer » Thu May 07, 2009 1:06 pm

I have finished my Masters and I would like to renew my visa as a student visa. Is it the living expenses and the tuition fees that I should hold in my account (for 28 days) or it is just the living expenses? Please help

Cheers!

You need to show both unless you have already paid for the tuition fees, in which case you need to show a receipt from your learning provider.

If you're able to apply before 1 June 2009 you will only have to show that you have the funds in your account on the day that you submit the application.

Don't forget that UKBA will round up part months so make sure you've got sufficient funds.
Oh, the drama...!

Do the funds have to be in YOUR account or can you declare a sponsor such as a parent and have your sponsor demonstrate HE/SHE has the funds??

Also, I think you meant 1st October 2009 as the 28 day requirement comes into effect by the end of September 2009.

If you apply before 1st October, you will need to show the amount in your account when you applied. 28 Days dosent apply before 1st October.

Transitional arrangements

As you have never had to show money before, we recognise that you may be unable to show us that you have held the money needed for the 28 days, at the start of Tier 4. If you apply before 1 October you will only need to show proof that you have the money needed, on the day that you apply. You must still provide the correct documents to support your application

1 June - now 1 October. 2 key extensions and Tier 4 barely out of nappies. How very unsurprising. Can the government really afford to play around like this with £2bn in revenue from overseas students..?
