Budget in support of a spouse application

Post by artefactfinder » Fri May 08, 2009 7:48 pm

Hi everyone.

I am getting ready (along with my husband) to file an application for a UK Spouse Visa here in the USA. Neither of us have jobs or job offers in the UK so as suggested in some posts i've drawn up a budget. I just wanted to get some opinions on it before I send it off. Have I included everything? Do my numbers look correct? Just to be clear I own my own house and have no mortgage payments.

I'd love to hear from others who applied for a spouse visa with no jobs lined up. Any tips on what to include in our application would be greatly appreciated!

Projected Monthly Budget

This budget shows a breakdown of our monthly expenses. It factors in meeting credit card repayments, paying for groceries, paying for heating and electric for my home as well as allocating money to put aside for my yearly rates bill which covers water supply and garbage collection etc.

Credit card Bills £240
Food £200
Home Heating/Electric £80
Housing Rates £82*
Money left over/Savings £400
Total £1002

*Northern Ireland equivalent to council tax
