Student Visa - for gf

Assuming my RU gf gets offered a place at uni here, is there anything wrong with me supporting her, her living with me etc?

I know this could prolly be seen as an attempt to get her here for different reasons. Well it is and it isn't! We consider ourselves a couple, and our reasons for wanting her to study here are genuine, seems odd that visas are issued for very specific purposes, ie student, fiancee, spouse and I should not appear in the picture for a Student visa application.

Any thoughts?
