Hi All,

I have been married to a British citizen for over 4 years and we currently live in Ireland,we intend to move to the UK in the next 6 months.I have recieved the EU family permit in prevoius applications.

My question is
We intend to apply for the EU1 Card which is valid for 5 years,do we have to submit our passports for the entire 6 months while it is been processed?
The reason I ask is because I would need to travel between Ireland and The Uk for job purposes every 2 weeks ,if they keep my passport this would be virtually impossible.I would be very grateful if I could get some advise and/or experiences from members.Thanks a lot.
