This is my first post - i am really in a desparate situation.
I would like to bring my mother to live with me to UK on permanet basis. i realise that the HO website is reasonably vague.
She is in a very difficult personal situation. My father died recently (they hardly lived together, she was not even allowed to attend his funeral because of religious difference!) and my only hope that they could be together atleast in their old age is now shattered.
She is living alone in India with no relatives to reach out to (because of inter-religious marriage) both from her side or from my dad's side. Other than me the only other person for her now is my sister who lives in the US and is a housewife so she cant take my mother with her. My mother is also suffering from anxiety linked high blood pressure problem (which is grealy linked to her living alone).
She is 60 years old, financially independent, retired recently (with pension) and has property in India which would roughly translate to £200,000.
I am aware of the immigration policy that someone has to be in a compassionate cirumstance. I am not sure if her personal situation is "compassionate enough" for the Home Office requirement though she is financially independent (can money buy everything in the world?).
I feel frustated because i want to look after her at this age after all that she has provided for me and i just find the requirement so complicated to understand.
I work full time and on ILR status.
can anybody advice me how to go about it
