urgent information needed regarding the earnings

Hi everyone,

I am planning for HSMP extension by the end of this month.I have a doubt regarding the earnings.Is it 12 consecutive months we have to keep in the earnings or any we can show any 12 months earnings in the last 15 months.

Because I am not in the UK in between Sep 08 - Jan 09 for personal reasons. Can i show the earnings of the months before Sep 08 with the earnings of the months after Jan 09 till the time I apply for extension covering the 12 months in the 15 month period.

Any information will be really helpful.

You cannot pick-and-choose 12 months. It should be consecutive 12 months.

You can only show earnings of 'ANY' 12 consecutive months in the last 15months.. if you want to show from Jan 09-June09.. than you wll be left only with July 08-Aug08 months... not before july 08... that too if u r applying very soon...

You can only show earnings of 'ANY' 12 consecutive months in the last 15months.. if you want to show from Jan 09-June09.. than you wll be left only with July 08-Aug08 months... not before july 08... that too if u r applying very soon...

as per the guidance.. you can only use earnings of 12 Consecutive months of the last 15months... that means you can use all the 12months or only few months as long as they will earn you enough points for you to qualify..

it is not that u shd use all 12consecutive mnoths...

just take an example of a person who is on T1Gvisa in UK working on contract jobs... in a span of 1year 12months he may have job for 6months then no job for 2months and job again after for that 4months in his case he can use the the payslips of 6months + 4months to get enough points for earnings...he will not be in-eligable for not showing payslips for those 2months...

Simple rule to follow is:
(1) Your earning period start date should be no earlier than 15 months from the date of application.
(2) You can use earnings for any 12 or less months (provided (3) below is adhered to)
(3) The start date of the earning period and the end date must not be separated by more than 12 months.

If you stick to the above and try out different combinations you would be within the rules.

Sorry, I was just passing on what this HO woman told on phone. It makes more sense to have any amount from 12 continuous months due to contractors for sure, so hopefully her information is faulty.

This section explains how you can extend your stay if you are already in the United Kingdom under the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP).

If you are in the United Kingdom under the HSMP you should switch to highly skilled worker (Tier 1 General) under the points-based system before your current period of leave (permission to stay) expires.

If you are currently here under a different immigration category, you cannot extend your stay by switching into the HSMP category. You should apply as a highly skilled worker (Tier 1 General) under the points-based system.

Is there anything called HSMP extension application? I thought all those on HSMP have to extend under Tier-1(General). Correct me if I am wrong.
