We need some help! Considering "extreme hardship"

Post by ConfusedV » Sat Jul 11, 2009 5:43 pm

Hello.

My name's Victoria. I'm new here and perhaps I'm not writing this in the correct section on the forums, and for that I apologize if that's the case, but I really do need some help and I'm hoping that is there is someone who can tell me what to do!

My family and I arrived in the US in 1997. After having our political asylum case denied, we were given voluntary departure, but we didn't depart, we appealed, but we were given a second voluntary departure. Again, we didn't leave by the date that was stated in the letter because my mother married a US citizen shortly AFTERWARDS, even though they've known each other for a long time.

In 2007, we were taken into custody and deported back to our country of origin, with a 10 year bar.

But my step dad, the one my mother married, is really sick, he has several serious medical conditions after suffering a car accident, and he can't take care of himself!

I heard about the I-601 and the I-212 waivers. But which one should we fill out? What do we do? If anyone knows what we should do, please reply ASAP! It would be greatly appreciated!

Victoria
