Unmarried Partners taking on Lodgers...

Post by Lohen » Sun Jul 19, 2009 2:44 pm

hi there,

around 8 months ago me and my partner successfully applied for an Unmarried Partner Visa, and have since been living together in a 2 bedroom (3 if you include the living room) property. however we would like to stay there and take on a lodger, either subletting the property to him or having him sign a tenancy agreement with our landlord. the issue is whether this is possible under our visa conditions, as we plan to apply for Indefinite leave/naturalisation etc whent he time comes.

Another issue is that the tennant whoe wishes to move in wants to apply for housing benefit, and im wondering if any of this should effect us (obviously neither of us are claiming any government funding).

Thanks.
