HSMP-->TIER 1 extension rejected

Post by antrasit » Wed Aug 05, 2009 10:43 am

Hi,

My HSMP-->Tier1 extension application is rejected due to missing Police Registration Certificate.

In the explanation letter, they've mentioned that it is an Invalid Application because of that.

Do I have to make a fresh application and pay a new fee?

Is invalid application and rejected application are the same in terms of charging?

Thanks in advance

Why you were required Police Registration Certificate? Any special case? Can you also post exact phrase of the rejection letter.

I'm a citizen of Turkey. In my previous HSMP visa, there was a notification to register with the police and I did that.

It was just I wasn't aware that I need to send that Police Registration Certificate together with my application.

In their explanation, they've put a comment to page 66 of the application form. They marked the box named "Police registration certificates" with a yellow marker and put a comment as "Mandatory".

Hmm...Are you given right to appeal?

Invalid application is different from Rejected application. Invalid application is returned to applicant(mainly due to incorrect form,failed payment etc.) whereas rejected application is rejected after decision is made to reject it.

Here is the exact sentence from their letter: "If you still wish to make an application, you must return your fully completed application form with the appropriate fee to the address given on the application form."

That is absolute non-sense. They didn't even started evaluating my application yet they charged a significant amount of money. It looks like a robbery to me.

Now I'll have to send a fresh application with a new fee I guess.

Generally for invalid applications they do not charge. But that may depend from case to case basis.
