Visa Mistake

Post by dubbu » Tue Jun 07, 2005 2:49 pm

Hi Guys,

There was a mistake in my Entry Clearance Visa and the Embassy stamped a Work Permit instead of HSMP. When I arrived here was told to check with Home Office. When I checked, I was told that I had to go to the Embassy where I got the Entry Clearance (they were most uncooperative and told me to come there before they could comment) or apply for FLR(IED) by paying £335. I have naturally applied for FLR(IED) and sent the application and waiting for my passport as I cannot work before I get it back with the correct visa.

Anyone been through a similar situation or have ideas?

For all others, please check your Visa Stamp before coming here as naturally majority of us have never seen a HSMP visa stamp to know the mistake.

sorry to hear about that, i hope you get your passport and new visa back quickly. my EC had a mistake as well, I was given 6 months instead of 1 year for HSMP. but i had the british consulate (manila) correct it before i flew to the uk.
