Creating additional earnings in India

Post by Shery2000 » Thu Jun 16, 2005 9:29 pm

Hi!
I am an over 28 years individual aspiring to apply for HSMP.

I am currently in the UK, came in 10 days ago under a Working Holiday visa for 2 years. I think I can apply for a HSMP while in the UK under this visa. I worked in my family business for 5 years with an MBA.

My question...

a. Is it true that if I wait to apply for HSMP, I cannot state to have earned an income in India even though I am drawing a salary from my company? How would it be viewed, as the application clearly asks where I am applying from.

b. As per the points calculation I am short of Rs.1.75 lacs in my earnings.
I may be able to show additional earnings but I want information/ideas about how to do that especially since I am already in the UK.

If I apply in July2005, prior 12 months earnings would run from June 2004 to June 2005 for example. I have filed returns for 2004-2005. If I show any payments by my company to me from Apr2005 to Jun2005, I will not have IT returns to support it even if I manage to show bank evidence (e.g. bonus payments or dividends or car allowance for this financial year). Is IT return mandatory?

I would appreciate any help as I feel that since I am already in the UK, my options are running out.

Thank you
Shery
