Settlement visa for husband

Hi everyone,

I've just joined the forum today so am not very familiar with the site. I've tried to search topics regarding applications for settlement/spouse visa from Turkey to the UK but have had no luck!

I'm British/Turkish and have been married and living in Turkey for the past 5 years. Am pregnant to our first child and have decided to move back to the UK - all my immediate family are there.

I have supplied as much info as poss and we are waiting for the outcome. Although it hasn't been very long since my hubby applied, I am getting stressed during this waiting period!

We don't have jobs lined up for us when/if we move but we both intend to work and my hubby will join an English course over there. We'll be staying with family until we get on our feet and have submitted letters to state that they have enough room and that we are welcome to stay and won't be paying rent.

We have sufficient savings to support ourselves without the need for public funds.

Any success stories regarding spouse visas from Turkey? I would love to hear experiences by fellow members..
Any tips/hints about possible interviews?

Any info would be very much appreciated

Zey, do appreciate that this board is comparatively quiet over the weekend.

Not sure what you want to hear? Based upon what you have posted, you seem to have the financial test and accommodation test covered OK. Hopefully you will hear soon about the result of your husband's visa application.

Given that you have been married to your husband for at least 4 years, and living with him outside the UK, the visa when issued should have the "KOL REQ" endorsement, which would mean that after he gets to the UK and wither gets a pass certificate from the Life in the UK Citizenship test, or a completion certificate from a combined ESOL/Citizenship course, he would be able to apply for his ILR straight away, rather than needing to wait until in the UK for nearly 2 years before making that application.

I wanted to get some info from someone who had applied for a spouse visa from Turkey. I know Worldbridge is everywhere but some things do vary from country to country. Maybe I am just stressing out..

Nobody can tell me if he'll get the visa or not, but hearing from others just makes you feel a bit better!

We've supplied all required documents and have written supporting letters, have submitted photos, copies of correspondence between us before we were married etc. How likely we are to be called for an interview - who know!?

What is the "norm" for the Consulate to get back to you - I know the website says at least 12 weeks but this can be sooner or later; I suppose there is no average really but I'm just anxious so please excuse my impatience!

Thank you for the info though, I was not aware that my husband may not have to wait for the 2 years before applying for the ILR.
