UK Experience Points Documentation (Money paid in the US)

Post by vidar » Thu Sep 10, 2009 11:55 pm

I worked in the UK for my firm's London office. But we were paid out of New York into New York bank accounts (London office was small, admin was in New York).

Can I still claim 5 points for UK Experience?

All work was in the UK and I live in the UK. The guidance refers to the income being earned in the UK. Well, I did the work here so I feel like I earned it here, it was just paid elsewhere. So does it count for Tier 1 purposes as earned here and thus give me the 5 UK Experience points?

Thanks for your help.

Since UK Experience poitns are provided based on the earnings in UK... and One of the proofs that is required fro Earnings proof is proper detailed Letter from company, if you can get a letter from your company that you are working for them in UK and you are being paid to your US Bank from your US office.. then i think you will be able to claim UK experience points..

you can also send an email to HO customercare asking the same by getting a letter from employer. u can attach this email reply as proof for claiming the points apart from letter from ur employer n bank statements

As per the guidance notes you can claim 5 points for UK experiance if:

1. You have studied in UK
2. Your income earned in UK exceeds £16K

Unfortunately this is not the case with you.. as the case worker will access you application based on your UK earnings for this section.
