Necessary to show return flight at UK immigration

Post by js1000 » Sat Sep 26, 2009 6:44 pm

My girlfriend was granted her prospective student (special visitor) visa last week and is not booking her flights.

Will she have to buy return tickets and will they request that she shows those tickets at immigration?

Thanks

It's not an absolute prerequisite but it's expected that she will have the ticket or at least the ability to pay for it.

Thanks for the reply.

Thing is that, as a prospective student, she does not know exactly when she would be leaving as she has not confirmed which course she'll be studying. This makes it very difficult to book a return flight.

Do you think there would be any problem just to show a bank statement demonstrating her ability to pay for one?

As I've already said but why does she not simply get an open dated retrun ticket?
