I am really sorry to ask this forum again and again, but the British embassy in Oslo has just confused me...
I went to the British embassy for my appointment to apply for the EEA family permit yesterday. I brought all origonal supporting documents and copies for all of them, because it was written as 'You must provide copies of all original supporting documents, if you wish your original to be returned to you' in the guidance from the embassy in Oslo.
So, I expected that i'd submitt both all original documents and copies for all of them, then the embassy would keep only the copies and return the original documents to me later.
But, what an officer in the embassy said is that they wouldn't return ANY documents I submitted, so they would accept ONLY COPIES if I wanted to keep my originals.
I was really confused, because its quite a common sence that its better to hand in the originals, so I even asked the officer if they wouldnt suspect whether the copies would be genuine from the original or not. Then, the officer answered as 'as long as they are good copies (means a good quality?), its ok'. Is it true??? Ive read some posts in this forum, and some applicants have been refused because a part of their documents werent originals, but copies....
I went to the embassy yesterday, but I didnt submitted anything after all, and so havent completed my application for the EEA FP, because of some other unexpected circumstances.
I would like to complete my application, but now I'm not sure if I should submitt supporting documents as copies or originals. some documents like originals of my husband's payslips and a invoice note book have to be returned for the tax return and my further visa application after the EEA FP is granted etc. Its rediculous if im refused because i submitt just copies of the supporting documents, even though I've collected everything as originals, just because the officer said ' its ok to submit copies'.
do the applicants for the EEA FP submit their supporting documents only as copies??
any advices are appreciated.
