Accommodation - renters

Post by MWill » Mon Nov 16, 2009 3:14 pm

Regarding fiance/spouse visas, I am renting accommodation in the UK and the landlord says they will write me a letter stating that when my fiancee arrives in the UK, they will give us a new tenancy agreement with both our names on it. Would this be enough to prove accommodation, if I submit this letter with the tenancy?

Yes, but make sure you include details of size and number of rooms.

That's great thanks! If the existing tenancy states that I'm the only person allowed to live there and that I'm not allowed to let anyone else live there, is that still OK as long as I have this letter confirming they'll give us a new joint tenancy as soon as she arrives?

Good, thank you! They're definitely going to give me the letter as they're pretty flexible - I just wanted to make sure the letter is enough to cover that clause.
