Family Visit Visa - 2 Years (Query on duration of stay)

Hello,

I have a confusion regarding the stay of my father who has valid visitor visa for 2 years.

He is in UK at present since 5 months on visit & going back to India on 21st December.

I have a confusion that how much time he needs to stay in India before making his next visit to UK. I asked many people but I found different answers from everyone.

Some people says your visit in UK cannot be more than 6 month at one time however you can live in UK for 5 months, go back to india stay there for 1 month & come back again...

I am really confused. I need to know the correct answers as per the immigration rules. What should be the interval between his consequetive visits to UK if he has already stayed for 5 months in UK.

Hi Wanderer,

How do we normally start calculating twelve months. Is this from the date of visa issued or from the date when he first entered UK.

I meant if he completed his first 5 months then he would need to stay in India for how many months. And when can he make the another visit.

To be more precise please find below the dates when he first came to UK.
Date of Entry to UK--12th July 09
Date of Leaving UK--21st December 09

Earliest Date of next entry to UK --- ?? (tentative)

Six months in any twelve month period, so using ur dates next entry should be around mid-June 2010.
