New passport issued while old passport carries Tier 1 visa

Post by SS100 » Mon Nov 30, 2009 3:03 pm

Hi friends..

I have a doubt- I have a new passport issued, while my old passport carries the Tier 1 visa stamp. Is that okay?I will be carrying both the passports while on travel to the UK.

Both me and my husband hold valid Tier 1 visa. We got the visa stamped in Feb 2009. Did not travel then, because I was expecting then.
Now, my husband plans to travel by January 2010.
What are the questions asked by the officials at the Heathrow? Is he required to show any documents- proof of accomodation, bank balance etc..We'are a lil confused as we hear various answers to this same question (while browsing thru the forum )...

I along with my baby plans to leave to the UK only after my husband gets settled there..Since, both my husband and I are Tier 1 holders, I hope my baby can be applied for visa as either of our dependants....

Pl clarify...
I hope I'm not duplicating!

Regards,
Shilpa

should be fine, no issues.
You can always get the new passport stamped if you want.

If I were you I'd carry both passports with me as well and wouldn't bother getting it stamped.

That is no problem, you must carry both passports.

Just routine questions, why he is going to UK, any job offer, for interview, how will you support UK economy, why did not go to UK since the start of visa, etc?? Should take it easy.

If you and your husband has Tier 1 general, then by fulfilling the requirements you can apply for your kid´s dependent visa. But if you are a Tier 1 dependent of your husband, then only your husband can apply for your child´s visa. Hope that helps.
