Earned citizenship for work permit/hsmp/tier 1 holders

Post by seanjoe » Mon Dec 14, 2009 2:18 pm

Hi there,

I was just wondering if anyone had any idea how we would become a British citizen if we had a combination of hsmp, work permit and tier 1.

my example is this:

october 2005- oct 2006 : working holiday scheme
oct 2006 - octoober 2007: work permit
october 2007 - oct. 2009 : hsmp
oct 2009: obtained tier 1 (valid till oct 2012)

when is the earliest that i could apply for citizenship. not sure how the transitional arrangements will apply to me, as under normal rules (both work permit and hsmp counting equally towards ILR), i thought i could apply for ILR on sept. 2011 and then for citizenship on oct. 2012.

what do you all think?
thanks
sean
