Schngen visa refusal

Post by nasj » Tue Dec 15, 2009 4:47 pm

Lately I had Applied for Schengen Visa at the Italian Embassy, but I got refusal and no reason for rejection were given to me.
even though, I had obtained many Schengen Visa previously, and I was in Italy three month ago for five days only and never violated any Schengen rules.
My question is: can I apply for a different country or my name will be in all Schengen Countries Data Base?

Surely, they gave you a reason; no matter how trivial you think it is!

Schengen visa refusal

No reason were given. in fact I did some search on line and I found that:
Nevertheless no reason needs to be given for the refusal.

That is consistent with the Common Consular Instructions, that is it is left to national laws whether a reason must be given or whether an appeal is possible.

As of April 2010 the Community Code on Visas will come in force with more detailed instructions, replacing all preceding regulations.

As of that moment reasons have to be given also by those member states that avoided this so far.

The 'Community Code on Visas' mentioned above states that a standard refusal notice must be given to failed applicants. Unfortunately for you, this rule does not become effective before April 5, 2011 together with a right to appeal...
