I currently have a tier 5 visa which expires in 2012 and wish to travel arround europe. I know about the open borders policy and therefore if i am traveling do i have to get a visa for the country which i am visiting or a schengen visa for some countries?

U will need visas as per your country of origin.

You only need to search on the website of the country where you wish to go, to find out whether you need a visa or not. It's really that simple!

Yeah - depends on your nationality and where you want to go. If you need a visa then you need to apply via the consulate of the first Shengen visa country you're going to. That visa should cover all the Shengen countries. If you need a visa for any countries not in the Shengen system then you need to approach them individually.
