Apologies if this question has already been asked. I will just throw this out there - I studied and got my licence to practice Dentistry in the Philippines. I currently work as a Dentist in the Middle East. Do I have to go to college in Ireland to qualify to work as a dentist there? I contacted the Irish Dental COuncil and they said I have to sit an exam especially set aside for Non EU trained Dentists. They didn't give me any more information or ask where i am from. I subsequently sent my resume to the Qualifications Recognition Authority and they said my qualifications that I gained in the Philppines(a five year Dentistry degree based on the American system) are equivilent to a Level 7 degree in Ireland - I understand that this Level 7 is a three year Diploma/Pass Degree. The Qualifications Rec. Authority gave me no more information about what is needed etc. so I am in the dark.
Just wondering if there are any persons out there who is in a similar position or who has successfully passed the IDC exam. I would be delighted to hear from you.
Personally, I would not mind studying for one or two years in Ireland to set myself up for the exam but not 4 or 5 years!
Btw, I am marrying my Irish partner this year, so that may help things on the visa front...

Many Thanks,
Don
