Tier-1- Bank Necessity

Post by kartik6783 » Mon Jan 25, 2010 4:34 pm

Posted this in Dependants section but havent got any replies. Wonder if anyone here could give a shout on this ?

Guys,

I am currently in UK with TIER-1.Getting married in May 2010 and planning to apply a dependent visa for my fiancee from india, after marriage. For the maintenance of funds requirement (2400 + 1600 pounds) is it mandatory that we need to maintain that amount in a 'UK Bank' and get the statements and the letter from them stating that the funds are there in place ? Am planning to maintain this in my indian account and get a letter & stmts from them , as i did for my TIER-1 visa - without hassles. Any problems with this ?

Also can someone give me the link to the dependent visa document requirements as am sure it would have been discussed umpteen times !

Thanks in advance

Regards,
Kartik

UK bank or non UK bank or combination of both is acceptable .. provided all other requirements as specified in the Tier 1 policy guidance are fulfilled.

Since how long are you in UK.. Less than 12months or more than 12months.. because maintenance funds differ for <12months you need to show 800+1600£ and if >12mnoths *00+533£

next

You can show funds in your name or u being Joint account holder IN or OUT of UK banks and in one or more accounts..

next

Checklist..

on UKVISAS.gov.uk website.

http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply ... checklist/

please do a search on this forum for more details.. main list would be

1. Marriage certificate
2. Maintenance funds
3. Spouse Visa/passport copy
4. accomodation + Utility bills (not mandatory but all r playing safe these days)

get back with more questions in case you have any..

Awesome, Thanks guys.

@Ramesh - By the time i apply dependant VISA for my better half, from india (after marriage) in june 2010 , i would have completed 9 months in UK. Hence i guess it would be 2400 for me.

Thanks again.

Cheers,
Kartik

Pls dont guess.. read the GUIDANCE and follow it..

Please read Paragraph's 40 and 42 on Page 9
Family member of a Tier 1 Migrant
40. If the Tier 1 Migrant is outside the United Kingdom or has been present in the United Kingdom for less than 12 months, each family member of the Tier 1 Migrant must show that he/she, the Tier 1 Migrant, or (for children) his/her other parent who is also legally present in the United Kingdom has at least £1600 to support him/her; this is in addition to any funds the Tier 1 Migrant needs to prove he/she has enough money to support himself/herself.

42. For example, the Tier 1 Migrant has been in the UK for 6 months and is making an application
at the same time as his/her spouse and two children. He/she must show that he/she has £1600 for
his spouse and a further £1600 for each child, in addition to £800 required for his/her own support.
In total thefamily will require evidence that they hold £5600 in available funds (£1600 x 3 = £4800
+ £800).
So you need to furnish 800 + 1600£
