IDR - appointment the day visa expires

Post by jgal » Tue Mar 09, 2010 8:12 am

Hello,
I am applying for my ILR - SET(M), only managed to get appointment for the day my visa expires, is there any problem with that? Or shall I send the week before via post?
Thank you

If it is valid on the day of the application, then you have nothing to worry about.

Wish you all the best. I do have one question related to this though. Not trying to sound pessimist but what happens if the application gets rejected for any reason? Does the UKBA give you some time to wrap everything up and then leave? If ILR gets rejected can you reapply for FLR instead of leaving?

On the 20th, and I was going to send by post but my husband has a business trip in early May, so better to go in person, I guess.
I was lucky to find an appointment for the day, just the monday past.
I have all the required documents (bank statements, payslips, proof of address, etc...) and taking a few extra just in case. We live in his mother flat and all our bank statements, phone bills etc, are to that address over the 2 years. Although utility bills are under her name and she is giving a letter stating she is the owner of the property, backing up with her mortgage slip and utility bills. Do I need any other documents to back up my application?
Thanks you
