PSW dependant visa - pls help

hi everyone,
Just wondering if you can advise a friend of mine. He holds PSW visa which is until 2011, he wants to include his wife & daughters (2yrs & 6 mnths) in this visa as his dependent. His wife also has PSW but expiring in few months time. He is not sure whether he can apply for her as his dependant within the UK or he need to send his wife back home and apply from there?
