Tier2 to Tier1 - Question on dependents

Tier2 to Tier1 - Question on dependents

Hi,

One of my friend is switching from Tier2 to Tier1. He doesnt have enough balance to cover his dependent. His dependent is on Tier2 Ddependent visa rt now.

Say he he applies for just his Tier1 General visa and gets it. After that, if he leaves the job (who sponsored his Tier2), how long will he have to get his dependent's visa switched to Tier1 general dependent?

IMHO .... ASAP! Because with Tier 2 visa of the main applicant becoming invalid, the dependent has no legal status in UK as a dependent of Tier 2 migrant (non-existant).
