NHS no not received

Post by hamid84 » Mon Apr 19, 2010 5:21 pm

My partner is registered with GP but has never received her NHS number/medical card.

She is now pregnent and went to see nurse today. Nurse tried to obtained her record in order to make appointment in hospital but hospital refused to do it saying she does not have NHS number on record otherwise she will have to pay £3000 for treatment.

Nurse has advised her to go to job centre along her passport. Problem is passport is expired and does not have valid leave due to FLR(S) rejection and appeal is in process.

She does have NINO and tax credit letter. Would this help?

Also why does she need to go to job centre? Is there any other department who can help?

Thanks

No leave equals pay I'm afraid...

Is the appeal an in-time appeal?

Yes appeal was lodged on time.

I am going to phone up the department tomorrow who issues medical cards.

Quick Update..

Rang the local office that issues NHS cards and they confirmed that no request was sent from surgery.

NHS card will be issued ASAP once all record is transfered.
