Lost passport - with UK Visa (whilst overseas)

Post by Chess » Fri Oct 21, 2005 2:18 pm

Gurus;

This is a hypothetical scenario!

What would happen if say one is on holiday overseas (or in their home country) and then their passport is stolen /lost - while containing say work permit VISA or FLR or even ILR..

Can they turn up at BHC overseas and get a new Visa or FLR?

A fresh application must be submitted to include:

1. New travel document/ passport acceptable to HMG.

2. Application fees.

3. Appropriate documentation pertaining to the relevant rules.

4. Police report on the loss.

5. Other relevant processing procedures e.g. DNA, finger printing

Expect some delay as enquiries will be raised with visa post issuing said initial visa and/or the IND back in London. Travellers are advised to carry copies of relevant passport pages to assist with resolving events such as this.

Thanx Kaya; nice to see you around...

The christmas season is approaching quite fast and I know most of us will be heading back where the sun never stops to shine :lol:
