What is the time period granted to move to Australia after

Post by azeemarif » Wed Oct 26, 2005 7:24 am

What is the time period granted to move to Australia after your visa is approved?

For example, if the immigration dept. informs that the application for skilled migration has been approved in 2006, is it possible that the applicant takes his time before moving to Australia (say in 2007)?

Thanks

When I did it, some7 years ago, you have 6 months to enter Australia and validate your visa, and then the visa is valid for 5 years. You can enter one day to validate the visa, and leave in the next flight if you like.

My 5 year allowance elapse, and my visa now is not valid anymore...

I asked this question of the Australian High Commissioner from the UK who recently held a Migrant Conference in Dublin. He said that the migrant had 12 months to enter the country

Hi Azeem,

The time period for the first entry is usually before your police clearance expires.

Cheers,
