Post by zhassan » Fri Oct 28, 2005 11:18 pm

Hi Moderators,

Does anybody have any idea of how newly proposed point based system will differ with existing HSMP.In consuntation document HO mentioned waht could be possible assessment criterion, but did not mention how many points will be awarded against each category. Also what will be the threshold for High Skilled and Skilled categories.

Also I would appreciate if anyone has idea about timeline for new point based System (Is it Spring next year).

with the British govt time and specifics are always unknowns. With the gambling bill we are still waiting for specifics on the tax policy over 6 years after this process started. So... who knows?

Zhassan, you need to appreciate that no Moderator gets paid for their work here. We give freely of our time ... and the amount of time we can spare varies from one point in time to another. I can say that I am aware that Kayalami is very busy with work pressure at the amount so can't look in here very much at the moment.

But why no response to this topic? Probably because the same subject matter keeps coming up. As far as I can see it is all summed up by :-

Making Migration Work for Britain - Consultation Launched on Managed Migration Routes to UK

-: and in particular :-
The Government will announce firm proposals for change and a timetable for implementation in the Spring of 2006.
So we all just have to wait until next Spring to hear the Government's proposals. Except it is not too late to respond to the consultation process. The final date is 7th November. Lots more detail at :-

Selective Admission: Making Migration Work for Britain

It is only after the consultation period has ended that the Government will evaluate the responses and start formulating a detailed policy.
