WRS DEPENDANT

Post by aboudi » Thu Nov 03, 2005 8:51 pm

Quick question to the administrators, my wife is a new EU member state citizen and is enrolled on the WRS scheme and me being a non-EU national have gained a one year EU permit through the EEC3 aplication. My question is if i managed to get a decently paid job can my wife apply for EEC1 residence permit for full rights based on economic self sufficiency( if she no longer wants to work) by virtue of her husbands well paid job as in me? instead of having to wait to complete a full year on the Worker registration scheme? many thanks in advance.

No sorry - WRS must be for full 12 months irrespective of other factors such as spousal income prior to application for full treaty rights on EEC1.

thanks for the reply kayalami, i was under the impression that if a new EU member state person cancelled his registration in the WRS scheme and informed the home office that they wanted to exercise their treaty rights by economic self sufficiency without wanting/needing to work it would be viable! but it seems i was miss informed! i will follow ur advice ! thanx again.
