Hi
My father-in-law was born in Africa in the early 40s. When he was 1 year old, his mother took him to India and that is where he grew up. Although he never had an Indian/African passport, he was eligible for British Protected Persons Passport which he claimed in 1976-77 but obtained it in 1980. In 1989 he came to UK for 3 months but did not like it here and went back to India. He lived in India up until 2000 and then immigrated to the UK on "Special Voucher Settlement" visa. He lived here in the UK thereafter. He acquired British Citizenship in 2004.
He passed away recently and his last wish was to go to India, which we were unable to fulfill when he was alive. We now want to take his body home to give him a proper burial and I am wondering if this will be possible since he does not have an Indian passport. Please advice as everyone is telling us different things.
