hi. i am on psw and my girl friend is in student visa here in uk. we planned to get married soon. can u tell me plz after getting married can i change my status as her dependent. do i need to go back home to do that. my psw finishing on october. one thing is really confusing some people says i have to go back for that,, but some sayz as when i came in this country i was not in point based system so old rules are applicable for me. please advice

old rules only apply until your leave is valid. as soon as your leve expires , you need to mak a new application and satisfy all the NEW requirements.

in your case, i think you will need to go home before coming back here as a dependent.
