Hi All,
Thanks to all the members on this forum for their guidance. I have received my Tier 1 visa. Had applied in-country(switch from Tier 2) with dependants. Details are
1. Application date(by post) : 15-May-2010. Had posted thru special delivery on saturday but this was sent on Monday from post office since was after last collection time. The application date was considered as 15-May(mentioned in T1 approval letter received with passports)
2. Amount debited from account(had provided debit card details):18-May-2010. This was the date when the application was received.
3. Acknowledgement letter(dtd 18-may)with reference number received:22-May-2010
4. Case worker contacted(by email) for new photo for 2 family members:9-Jun-10. Sent on 10-Jun. Only 3 days were given to submit new photos.
5. Received stamped passports through post : 21-Jun-2010.
The application came up for processing in exactly the same week as was mentioned on the waitingtimes page of the UKBA site http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... tingtimes/
Please monitor your email box(email id provided in application) everyday for any communication from UKBA for additional documents since limited time is given to provide them.
All the points that I had claimed were awarded. I had provided Indian bank statements on dot matrix paper with stamp and sign for one part of earnings evidence. Was very apprehensive if this would be accepted since had seen rejection cases on this forum after application. Luckily this was accepted. But I would not recommend anyone to use these as evidence. Always ask for statements on bank letterhead from your bank even if they say that is not their policy. We are customers and the banks will oblige if we press enough.
I had sent additional bank statements(earning evidence) on bank letterhead(to furhter authenticate the dot matrix printouts) along with reference number received in acknowledgement letter, 3 weeks after application(9th June) but had sent to Durham address(same as initial application). But the caseworker had asked for new photos on a different address(Sheffield). So dont know if these reached the case worker since these were not sent along with the passports and other documents sent with initial application.
I had used the exchange rate on the last day of the 12 month period even though the earnings were split into 10 months India + 2 months UK earnings.
Let me know if anyone requires further information.
Regards,
Layman!
