Does it gonna affect "Dependent visa" applications as well. I am worried because we are going to file for dependent visa for my wife, in the month of August so i am kind of worried.

and the dependants are excluded from the limit.

Yeah, the outcome from the discussion is that Dependants are not included this limit as of now. Never know about future.
Me too have the same position as yours. My wife will also apply from indian in august.
