Can my child still have the irish nationality if he/she is born in any part of northern ireland? or should the birth be in a specific county of northern ireland? If the answer to the first question is YES,Aceform wrote:And it shouldn't make much of a difference, if your child has an Irish passport.Ben wrote:Hi tipsyking,
Your child, if born in Ireland, would be an Irish citizen by birth and a British citizen by decent.
A child born anywhere in Northern Ireland to a parent who is a British citizen is, from birth, a British citizen and an Irish citizen. A birth certificate is issued by the UK authorities as the child is born in the UK.tipsyking wrote:Can my child still have the irish nationality if he/she is born in any part of northern ireland? or should the birth be in a specific county of northern ireland?
