Needs advice on what application to make

Hey guys,

I am from Fiji and have overstayed and am trying to make an application to legalise my status. I came to the UK on 01/04/2001 to join the british army, which i did and served for over 3 yrs 7 months. Got discharged in 27/11/2004 from germany where i was based and flew back to the UK on the same day.

So altogether ive been here for over 9 years, i've also lost my passport in 2007 and just currently in the process of aquiring a new one. When i get my new passport there will be no stamp in it and since i came through the army i have no documents from the home office. But i have got my certificate of service from the army.

Since leaving the army i've been working here and there and currently unemployed. I was in the combat unit in the army and recently been approached by security companies to work for them, however i need an SIA security badge to work for them and to get that i need to legalise my stay.

I'm thinking of making a humantarian application and hope they give me a Discretionary leave to remain. Is this the right application? or is there any other form of application i need to do?

Would really appreciate advice on what to do. What sort of application should i make? what forms should i feel out?
