Tourist Visa for Tier1 dependent

Hi,

I have valid Tier1 UK visa and travelling to UK soon. I would like my wife and kid to join me there to visit the place. I have not applied for dependent visa yet so can they travel or tourist Visa?

If I want my family to accompany me during the travel, can I get tourist visa for them? What are the required documents for this Visa and how soon can I get it? Do we need invitation letter from someone in UK or sponsorship letter.

IIRC, not long ago, there was a post on the forum mentioning refusal of visitor EC application by a Tier 1 (General) dependent ... so tread carefully if intending to take this route.

Sachin, be very careful, I had applied visitor visa for my wife initially but ECO declined the visa saying they are unsure if she would return back while i have full time job in Uk.

So, my advise would be to apply for dependant and if for some reasons you need to apply visitor then make sure you provide strong evidences to prove that your wife and kid would definitely return back to india.
