Hi,
My first post on this forum.
I had 2 basic queries and I would be grateful if some member or moderators of the forum could please try to answer the queries.
I got my ILR in October 2009 after completing 10 years as a full-time student in the UK.
I would be soon applying for the UK citizenship.
Besides my passport (which shows an ILR) as well as "Life in the UK" pass certificate, what other documents would I require to submit along with my application.
(A) The Home Office under the heading:
"The documents we require for naturalisation applications" states:
1. Evidence of your identity
2. Evidence of knowledge of English and of life in the United Kingdom
It is the third document on which I needed a bit of clarification i.e.
3. "Evidence of exercising treaty rights for five years".
Under this part, the Home Office states:
If you are a student, you should provide:
* a letter from the educational establishment confirming that you were enrolled on a course of study throughout the qualifying period; and
* evidence that you have comprehensive sickness insurance cover for you and your accompanying family members.
If in my ten years of stay in the UK, I studied in 3-4 different educational establishments, would I need a letter from all the past educational establishments when applying for the UK citizenship?
This seems a bit strange requirement esp. after someone has already been granted an indefinite leave to remain in the UK after completing 10 years in the UK.
(B) Students who after completing their 10 years in the UK then received their ILR. Do they require any other documents, besides the 3 mentioned above when applying for British citizenship?
I would highly appreciate if someone could please answer the above 2 queries.
Many Thanks.
