Getting ILR. Travelling extensively, any travel days cap?

Post by bsadigli » Thu Sep 16, 2010 4:02 pm

Dear All,

I am on a 4 year work permit issued on April 2008. My understanding is that after that I will renew it for one more year before I could apply for ILR. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I am a citizen of country X at the moment and I have to travel to country X quite a lot (both business and personal). I understand that there are restrictions on being in UK for 180 days during the last 5 years for getting ILR, but if these travels are business travels, can they be discounted with the employer's letter of suggesting that these travels were business related? Is there any limit on as to how many days of business travel I can have?

A comprehensive reply would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Yes.

In general yes, but may be subject to a limit and caseworker discretion. See also Settlement - Tier 2
