Bit Confused Need Help Please

Hi there,

I have got HSMP visa , and it will be finish in 2013 , recently I got married and right now my passport is in home office for depended visa for my wife ,

Problem :

I have got very nice job offer and my passport still in home I can not show my original passport to them I have got photo copy of my passport and copy of visa's page as well , I spoke with my solicitor and he made a request to home office and they are saying it will take 10 working days but 2 weeks has gone , I am still waiting .....

QUESTION:

Does anybody know that how can I get only my passport ?
can they give me only for two weeks ? Or
what should I Do please help me I do not want to lose this offer ...
