PR(EEA3): First one and a half year is tricky; study, job

Post by ammirza » Tue Sep 28, 2010 12:34 pm

Guys,

I am a Norwegian national and going to apply for PR (EEA3) as my 5 years are completed in Sep 2010. My query is related to the below time duration of mine:

1- Sep 2005 - Sep 2006 (Full time studies)

2- Aug 2006 - Jan 2007 (part time employment on payroll - Royalmail)

3- Dec 2006 - Feb 2007 (abroad: outside EU) resigned from Royalmail while I was abroad on leave

4- Feb 2007 - June 2007 (searching for job, haven't registered with job centre, didn't take any job seeker allowance or benefits; survived on my own savings)

After June 2007, I am fine with the documents. My query is, what docs do I need to attach to prove the above

1 - I can attach my original MBA degree (would that alone be sufficient?)
2- I have got prove of my Royalmail part time job in the form of salary slips and P45. Would that be sufficient?

I am much confused about point 3 and 4 above. Do I need to get any letter from DWP to show that I wasn't on benefits between Feb 2007- June 2007 or for any other time period (I don't know how to get the letter and will that be a requirement). What about bank statements (I personally don't think that it is necessary, besides I have closed one of my accounts and opened a new one in between studying)?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks and Regards

For 3&4 you can claim 'self-sufficiency' - provide bank statements.

However, there is the issue of comprehensive sickness insurance which the HO may request for the period of self-sufficiency...

thanks plum70, but what is the criteria for self sufficiency? how much should you have on your bank account? should it be a permanent source ( like receiving rent or whatever) or just an amount of money in your bank account?
